  • The downward revision of the Indian import taxes by 5.5 percentage points for crude soya and palm oils and by even 11 points for sunflower oil with effect of Sept 24 is a significant step by the government to bring down domestic prices during the festival season. But how far will domestic prices decline and to what extent will Indian imports increase?

  • Larger than expected sun oil exports are apparently coming out of Ukraine and Russia currently, despite the still existing shipment problems in the Black Sea.

  • Expectations that progress is made to ease the shipment situation in the Black Sea contributed to a setback in grain and oilseed prices on the world market.

  • There is a shortage of high-quality fish meal on the world market, primarily due to the reduced Peruvian production. Chinese port stocks of fish meal are at a multi-year low.
