  • Logistical constraints in Russia and Ukraine and insufficient crush capacity elsewhere will curb sunflowerseed crushings and result in record global stocks of 9 Mn T at the end of this season.
  • The rapeseed crush is seen rising globally but may partly be limited by geopolitical hurdles, e.g. in Russia and the UAE.
  • Consumption of veg. oils is seen growing much stronger than production, possibly widening the production deficit to approximately 2 Mn T in 2026/27.
  •  Record soybean crushings boosted G-3 soya meal exports to a new high of 73.8 Mn T in Oct/Sept 2025/26, up 4.1 Mn T from a year earlier and vs. the five-year average of 60.8 Mn T.

  • Oilseed crushings will continue to rise sharply in the fourth consecutive year in 2026/27 to satisfy product demand. The prospective decline in world production and export supplies of palm oil will raise global dependence on seed oils.
  • We currently project world rapeseed production to reach a new high of 87.3 Mn T this season, up 1.1 Mn T from a year earlier, still depending on weather conditions in coming weeks.
  • Price pressure on linseed from abundant supplies in Russia and Kazakhstan.
  •  World production of 17 oils and fats is currently forecast to increase by only 3.5 Mn T in Oct/Sept 2026/27, a 6-year low. This contrasts with the strength of demand from the energy sector.
  • There is potential for an increase of global sunflower oil exports by 1.9 Mn T in Oct/Sept 2026/27 if the logistical problems are solved.
  • We estimate world exports of palm oil at only 47.8 Mn T in 2026/27, down 2.6 Mn T and almost exclusively on account of Indonesia.
